This process can be time consuming, costly, and emotionally draining. While our team of litigators has decades of trial experience, they’re also skilled at acting as mediators to help parties recognize when a client matter can be resolved through mediation. Mediation is a non-binding process that allows both parties to create a solution that works best for all involved. The process is confidential and starts with both parties discussing goals, values, and identifies what each party would like to see as an end result. Mediation is often court-ordered and helps parties to settle legal disputes without the expenses and risk inherent to a trial.
Ruder Ware’s litigators have collectively shepherded hundreds of cases through the mediation process. Choosing the right mediator is important. Different types of disputes call for different approaches, mediators need to be skilled enough to employ the right approach, at the right time, on the right case. As mediators, our attorneys evaluate issues presented and give their opinion of what the parties should do to settle the case in addition to offering their own conclusions as to how the case can be settled.
