2024 HSA Limits Are Announced

On May 16, 2023, the IRS announced the Health Savings Account limits for 2024.  With respect to contribution limits, the limits are higher than the ones for 2023 and the required deductible and out-of-pocket maximums have increased as well.  As a reminder, these inflation adjusted amounts are effective for calendar year 2024

HSA/HDHP Requirement Cost-of-Living Adjustments
Limit on HSA Contributions – Self-only HDHP 2023 – $3,850

2024 – $4,150

Limit on HSA Contributions – Family HDHP 2023 – $7,750

2024 – $8,300

HDHP Required Deductible – Self-only HDHP 2023 – $1,500

2024 – $1,600

HDHP Required Deductible – Family HDHP 2023 – $3,000

2024 – $3,200

HDHP Out-of-pocket Maximum – Self-only HDHP 2023 – $7,500

2024 – $8,050

HDHP Out-of-pocket Maximum – Family HDHP 2023 – $15,000

2024 – $16,100

HSA Catch-up Contribution Limit 2023 – $1,000

2024 – $1,000

All of the above are for calendar year 2024.
