Please Click HereRuder Ware is proud to announce the acquisition of Swandby/Kilgore Associates, Inc., a respected Madison-based government affairs firm. As part of the acquisition, veteran lobbyist Kathi Kilgore will join Ruder Ware’s Government & Public Affairs team.
Kilgore brings more than 30 years of experience influencing public policy at the state, federal, and local levels. She has been instrumental in advancing key legislative initiatives, including the repeal of the personal property tax, modernization of room tax revenue laws, and statutory changes requiring online marketplaces to collect and remit sales taxes.
“Kathi is a widely respected advocate with a deep understanding of Wisconsin’s legislative and regulatory landscape,” said Matt Rowe, President of Ruder Ware. “Her addition to our team strengthens the value we offer to clients navigating complex government relations challenges.”
She will join Ruder Ware Strategies’ team alongside John Jacobson, Director of Public Affairs, further enhancing the firm’s presence and strategic reach in state and local affairs.
Kilgore began her government affairs career as a staff member to two State Representatives, an experience that gave her a solid foundation in the legislative process. She became a shareholder and Vice President of Swandby/Kilgore Associates in 2006 and assumed full ownership as President in 2017.
The addition of Kilgore and the resources of Swandby/Kilgore Associates significantly enhances Ruder Ware’s statewide government affairs presence, particularly in Madison.
