2020 HSA Contribution Limits are Announced

Today the IRS announced the HSA limits for calendar year 2020.  Hard to believe we are already talking 2020, especially after a Memorial Day weekend in Wisconsin where the air conditioning and furnace were both needed.  As you long for summer, look forward to slightly higher limits in 2020, as set forth in the chart below.

HSA/HDHP Requirement Cost-of-Living Adjustments
Limit on HSA Contributions – Self-only HDHP 2019-$3,500

2020-$3,550

Limit on HSA Contributions – Family HDHP 2019-$7,000

2020-$7,100

HDHP Required Deductible – Self-only HDHP 2019-$1,350

2020-$1,400

HDHP Required Deductible – Family HDHP 2019-$2,700

2020-$2,800

HDHP Out-of-pocket Maximum – Self-only HDHP 2019-$6,750

2020-$6,900

HDHP Out-of-pocket Maximum – Family HDHP 2019-$13,500

2020-$13,800

HSA Catch-up Contribution Limit 2019-$1,000

2020-$1,000

All of the above are for calendar year 2020.
