The Litigation practice group represents businesses and individuals in a broad array of litigation matters. Staffed by eight attorneys with substantial experience in federal and state court litigation and arbitration/mediation of business and individual disputes, the Litigation practice group has particular expertise litigating complex business disputes. We represent our clients in state and federal courts throughout the country.

The Litigation practice group works closely with other firm practice groups representing and counseling clients in contract disputes, class action litigation, environmental litigation, employment disputes, construction disputes, real estate claims, tax litigation, securities litigation, insurance coverage disputes, and personal injury claims. Additionally, we often represent businesses, municipalities, and individuals in administrative hearings before state and federal regulatory agencies.

While the Litigation practice group's forte is representation of businesses and individuals in the litigation process, we also provide our clients with risk management consultation and complex litigation management services. As the complexity of business relationships has increased, so has the need for consultation regarding the litigation risks a particular commercial relationship or product innovation may present. Our litigation attorneys work with clients to develop and implement risk-shifting strategies designed to keep our clients out of the courtroom and to enhance their prospects for successful resolution if litigation occurs. Our consultation services include assessment of vendor contracts, distribution agreements, construction contracts, product warranties, and product promotional literature with a view to preventing litigation and shifting the risk of inevitable disputes.

Our group also manages complex commercial litigation for clients in Wisconsin and throughout the country. As technology facilitates client business relationships in a multitude of jurisdictions, a business can diminish the distraction and costs of litigation by retaining experienced litigation attorneys to develop and manage litigation strategy, oversee discovery, and monitor costs.

Finally, internet and software developments, while creating new business opportunities, have also increased the complexity of commercial relationships. The Litigation practice group has experience with litigation of internet-related disputes and failed software implementation projects. In a business environment increasingly driven by technology, the Litigation practice group can assess the litigation risk of internet business initiatives and proposed software implementation projects and guide your business through the technological and legal jungle when litigation ensues.
