Kimberly A. Line-Berget

Professional Experience

Kim has always worked within the legal field with the exception of a four year hiatus in pensions.  While she’s been a paralegal for over a decade, her background prior to this role means she brings a big picture outlook when working with clients.  Kim started in structured settlements drafting release agreements and court documents.  It was in this position she worked with clients to ensure case specific annuity proposals matched their future needs.  She moved into litigation working in the areas of creditors’ rights, foreclosures and evictions, but she missed helping people, thus embarking upon her paralegal career.  At Ruder Ware Kim assists trustees and personal representatives with:

  • Valuing and inventorying assets
  • Obtaining court authorizations when necessary
  • Responding to beneficiary inquiries
  • Processing asset transfers
  • Preparing real estate transfers documents
  • Assists in preparing Estate Tax returns
  • Assists in preparing Fiduciary Income Tax returns

At the age of eight, Kim embarked upon a lifelong hobby/passion – dog training.  Specifically, she trains her shelties in agility.  She has achieved ten Master Agility Championship titles with three dogs and has been an AKC National Finalist multiple times.  She has represented the U.S.A. twice as an AKC World Team Member at the FCI World Championships in Luxembourg and as an alternate in Italy.  In addition, she has represented the U.S.A. three times at the European Open Championship in Belgium, Hungary and Germany becoming both a team and individual finalist in Hungary.
