Four Ruder Ware Attorneys Selected for Wisconsin Super Lawyers

Attorneys Mark Bradley, Randi Osberg, Christopher Seelen, and Mark Munson have been selected as Wisconsin Super Lawyers. Only five percent of the lawyers in the state are named by Super Lawyers.


Selections for this esteemed list are made by the research team at Super Lawyers, which is a service of the Thomson Reuters, Legal division based in Eagan, Minn. Each year, the research team at Super Lawyers undertakes a rigorous multi-phase selection process that includes a statewide survey of lawyers, independent evaluation of candidates by the attorney-led research staff, a peer review of candidates by practice area, and a good-standing and disciplinary check.

Attorney John Fisher, II Earns his Certified Compliance Ethics Professional Designation

John Fisher, II, a health care attorney with Ruder Ware in Wausau, Wisconsin, has obtained the designation of CCEP, Certified Compliance Ethics Professional. The certification is provided by The Society of Corporate Compliance and Ethics (SCCE), a national organization based in Minneapolis.

SCCE defines the CHC designation as follows:

CCEP Professional: The CCEP is a professional with knowledge of relevant regulations and expertise in compliance processes sufficient to assist the corporate industry to understand and address legal obligations, and promote organizational integrity through the operation of effective compliance programs.

SCCE also states that:

The purpose of the certification is to promote compliance through the certification of qualified compliance professionals by:

  1. Recognizing formally those individuals who meet the eligibility requirements of the CCB and pass the Certified Compliance and Ethics Professional (CCEP) Examination.
  2. Encouraging continued personal and professional growth in the practice of compliance.
  3. Providing a national standard of requisite knowledge required for certification; thereby assisting employers, the public and members of the professions in the assessment of a compliance professional.

Attorney Fisher has also obtained his Certification in Healthcare Compliance (CHC) from the Health Care Compliance Association.


Attorney Lon Roberts Appointed Chairman of the State of Wisconsin Investment Board (SWIB)

On September 14, 2012, Lon Roberts was appointed by Governor Walker to serve as Chairman of SWIB. SWIB manages approximately $89 billion in retirement assets for the Wisconsin Retirement System and its 550,000 participants. The appointment will continue until September 14, 2014.

As Chairman, Roberts will be the person responsible for the strategic direction and operational and management performance of SWIB. Roberts will preside at all trustee board meetings and be the agency's representative to the Executive and Legislative branches of state government. Roberts will be responsible for the appointment of other board members to board committees and approving all meeting agendas.

Along with the Executive Director, Lon will be responsible for the agency's response to all media inquiries and the public communications of SWIB.


Attorney Shanna Yonke Joins Ruder Ware

A Wausau native, Shanna advises individuals and business owners in all aspects of personal estate and business planning. Working with individuals, Shanna drafts wills and estate plans bringing a particular talent to capturing the family's desires while maximizing tax saving opportunities. In addition, Shanna represents exempt organizations providing counsel in matters such as obtaining and retaining tax exempt status and compliance with federal code to avoid tax penalties. A magna cum laude graduate of the University of Minnesota Law School, Shanna received her B.A. summa cum laude from the University of Minnesota - Minneapolis.
