Professional Experience:
Dan Rupar represents entrepreneurs, individuals, and families in a broad range of matters pertaining to the ownership, management, and transfer of wealth. He assists clients with the optimum ownership of family assets throughout lifetime, and the efficient transfer of assets at death. Dan is skillful in handling the multiple issues that arise in developing a business succession plan. Dan has substantial experience in the alternative energy industry and the development of Design-Build projects. In addition, Dan leads our Fiduciary Services Group and is actively involved as a trustee in the management of investments in numerous trusts. His experience includes:
  • Continuing wealth transfer and asset protection planning for many clients with substantial assets.
  • Creation of a limited liability company (LLC) and family limited partnership (FLP) funded with family real estate interests or other assets, and implementation of gifts of LLC and FLP interests to family members.
  • Negotiation and implementation of shareholder and buy-sell agreements among owners of closely held businesses.
  • Development of several alternative energy projects.
  • Financial and legal planning in connection with the sale of a family’s interest in a company.
  • Development of succession plans for family-owned and closely held businesses.
